Flashcards
A flashcard is a question-and-answer card made from a highlight, a chapter or a note.
Making flashcards
Section titled “Making flashcards”You make a flashcard from the material it is about:
- Highlight: open the highlight and go to its Flashcards tab.
- Chapter: open the chapter in the Structure tab and go to its Flashcards tab.
- Note: add a flashcard from the note.
Write a question and an answer. The card is linked to the highlight, chapter or note you made it from.
AI suggestions
Section titled “AI suggestions”You can ask the AI to suggest flashcards for a highlight or a chapter. You go through the suggestions one at a time and accept or reject each. Crossbill saves only the cards you accept.
AI suggestions need an AI provider. See Chapter digests.
Browsing a book’s flashcards
Section titled “Browsing a book’s flashcards”A book’s Flashcards tab lists all its cards, grouped by chapter. Cards that are not linked to a chapter have their own group. Click a card to show its answer.
You can:
- search the cards by question or answer text
- sort them newest or oldest first
- filter them by tag. A card has the tags of the highlight it was made from.
- edit or delete a card
Studying in Anki
Section titled “Studying in Anki”Crossbill does not schedule reviews. The Anki add-on syncs your flashcards into Anki, and you study them there with spaced repetition.
